Well,it wasn't a fairytale ending for the Manchester United and
FC Porto match.
It ended in a 2-2 draw which could prove costly for the champions.
The first half was just an embarrassing performance by United and Porto did very well to keep the pressure on.
They managed to get an early kill in just 4
mins when Cristian Rodriguez curled a left footed shot down the right hand side of Edwin Van Der

Truth be told,Rooney's goal at the 15
th min mark was a gift when Bruno
Alves back passed to his keeper without looking and lo and behold,Rooney was at the right place and the right time who pounced on the opportunity and put the ball at the back of the net.
The rest of the first half proved to be a challenge for United though both teams had beautiful chances to score.
It ended 1-1 at the half and the champions had to bring their A game in order to survive the rest of the match.
And bring their A game they did.Sir Alex Ferguson definitely said some words that helped them and the champions played like true champions.
United dominated the second half no doubt and put in a number of beautiful chances to score.
And they were rewarded in the end at the 85
th min when Gary Neville's throw was meet by a beautifully heel flick by Rooney which set up
Tevez for the kill.
It looked like it was to end as a win for United but another silly mistake at the 89
th min mark
proved so costly for the reigning champions.
An unmarked Mariano didn't have the cleanest of touches but it did enough to put the ball in the back of the net.
Honestly,i expected it to be a cagey game but i guess both teams prove me wrong.
Now,the pressure is on United as Porto have a 2 away goal lead.
For those of you who aren't familiar with the away goal advantage,here's a little gist of what it is.
For every goal a team score when they are playing away,it counts as a goal plus advantage.
How it plays in the result is only when both legs ends in a draw for example how United drew 2-2 with Porto and if the second leg ends in a goalless draw.
The winner will then come down to away goal advantage which in this example goes to Porto as they have 2 away goal advantage.
So
even though if United drew 1-1 on the
second leg,they would only have 1 away goal advantage compared to Porto's 2 which means that Porto will still go through.
So in order for United to go through on a draw game situation,they have to draw an impossible 3-3 which is really unlikely to happen.
Realistically only a win will do.
It doesn't matter if they win by a goal or 50 goals,a win would be a much safer result.
I guess only time can tell.
United's next game will be against
Sunderland.
Yes
Sunderland are one of the few teams at the bottom of the table but United will not be as strong due to the ongoing suspension of Rooney and
Scholes.
Vida would be back playing if
I'm not wrong.
We'll just have to wait and see.
For the other results,Arsenal drew 1-1 with
Villareal.
Liverpool suffered a major defeat at home in the hands of their English rivals Chelsea.
Liverpool lost 3-1.
But the biggest defeat has to go to
Bayern Munich when they lost 4-0 to Barcelona.
It would definitely be a tall order for
Bayern to get through to the semis.
Well i went out with
Saiful to the new
Tampenis 1 mall today.
Just wanted to see what the new mall had in store and whether it will be a good one.
And there was an opening of a new Japanese store there called
Uniqlo.
It's the first ever store in Singapore and in southeast
Asia alone.
It's one of the biggest brand in Japan and it has made a name for itself in the US,the UK and much more.
It's more of the casual type of brand like
Topshop and River Island.
It's famous for its quality apparels for a very cheap price and i must say,it is actually quite a bargain.
Since it was its opening day,there were loads of people there and believe or not,we had to queue just to get in.
But it was worth it.Happened to run in to Nikki and her mum there.
Walked around a little and we went home after that.
